X2 Interactive Crosswords by Sutherland Studios
Sutherland Studios has developed X2, a Java applet that enables us to provide our online interactive crosswords for use on your web site.
X2 is a tiny Java applet, which will operate on any system. A
crossword is supplied as 2 files - a .jar file, which includes the X2 java applet as well as the embedded crossword (including grid layout, answers, and clues), and an .html file which gives the formatting parameters.
All you need to do is insert the HTML code into your web site, and place the .jar file on your server. It's as easy as that!
One feature of X2 is that you can format each crossword's appearance to suit your web site. All colours are editable, and there are a variety of layout options, including titles, clue windows, function buttons, and so on. There is even room for a logo or icon to sit in the title field.
